Job summary

Valeo North America is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Hamilton, OH facility. The role supports production on 2nd shift (2pm–10pm, Mon–Fri) with occasional overtime. Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting robotic and PLC systems, 5S participation, QRQC, and continuous improvement initiatives. Requires 3–4 years in automotive manufacturing or technical degree; PLC/robot experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment to ensure reliability and uptime.
• Perform corrective maintenance and analyze failures to improve maintainability.
• Participate in 5S, QRQC, and improvement workshops and document interventions.
• Lead or participate in improvement projects and train staff on procedures.

About the Role

VALEO North America is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team at our Hamilton, Ohio facility. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability, production continuity, and continuous improvement. The position will support production operations during the 2nd shift by troubleshooting equipment issues, performing maintenance interventions, and contributing to improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and productivity.

2nd shift hours are 2pm-10pm Monday to Friday with occasional overtime on weekends required.

Preventive Maintenance

Level 1: Perform simple preventive maintenance operations according to standard operating procedures and schedules.

Level 2: Prepare and perform preventive maintenance on all equipment (electrotechnical, automated, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, etc.). Work on programmable logic controllers, robots, and manipulators.

Level 3: Study, prepare, and perform preventive maintenance on all factory equipment, including programmable logic controllers, robots, and manipulators.

Corrective Maintenance

Level 1: Intervene on machinery to resolve simple breakdowns under the supervision of a more qualified technician. Analyze failure causes and propose improvements. Perform necessary modifications on equipment.

Level 2: Resolve breakdowns autonomously. Analyze and implement modifications on equipment across all technical domains. Improve reliability, capacity, and maintainability.

Level 3: Propose and implement actions to improve reliability, capacity, and maintainability using new technologies.

Other Activities

Level 1: Actively participate in the maintenance workshop's 5S program. Participate in QRQC (Quick Response Quality Control) within their domain. Update intervention tracking logs to ensure traceability.

Level 2: Participate in daily and monthly meetings as well as improvement workshops. Contribute to specifications during the receipt and commissioning of new resources.

Level 3: Lead improvement projects, consult with subcontractors, and guarantee follow-up and results. Draft and distribute assembly, disassembly, or adjustment procedures and provide training.

What You Should Have

• 3-4 years Automotive manufacturing experience or technical/Associate's degree.
• Plastics molding machine repair and maintenance – Preferred.
• PLC and robot experience – Preferred.
• Siemens Electrical Experience – checking sensors/trouble shooting wires with an electrical multimeter is required.
