Maintenance Technician
Under limited supervision, the Maintenance Technician is a multi‑skilled, multi‑craft technician who works independently and uses judgment to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and building systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, including inspecting drives, motors, belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, and other predictive maintenance actions.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective actions by reviewing blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs.
- Repair and service machines, equipment, or building systems using precision measuring instruments or electrical/electronic testing devices.
- Install and repair electrical apparatus such as transformers, wiring, and electrical/electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Repair machines, equipment or devices to access and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools or power tools.
- Provide support for die maintenance and troubleshooting of roll‑forming equipment.
- Install, program, and repair automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
- Set up and operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machines to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools.
- Operate cutting torch or welding equipment.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Attainment of ACT WorkKeys Assessment at certified job profile skill level.
- Minimum 6 months of experience in industrial maintenance or a combination of technical school degree, craft certification, or completion of maintenance skills/craft courses and experience in industrial maintenance.
- Associate’s degree in industrial maintenance or technical school degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, machinist and/or related fields.
- Working knowledge of drawing software such as AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and designing and fabricating parts.
- Experience in the diagnostics and repair of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and/or robotics.
