Job summary

Richelieu Foods in Beaver Dam, WI is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift to observe and repair production equipment, read blueprints, and ensure machine readiness.

You will perform preventive maintenance on processing, filling, and packaging lines, diagnose faults, and document hours and parts usage. GMP and safety standards apply to daily duties.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three to five years’ experience in an industrial maintenance role.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting bearings, belts, sheaves, sprockets, chains, and gear reducers and proper alignment of these drive devices.
  • Experience in inspection of the above and the ability to make recommendations on the proper level of replacement and inspection.
  • Ability to make recommendations on spare parts, lock‑out tag‑out procedures, guarding, and the level of operator involvement for proper machine integrity.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment and troubleshoot/repair processing, filling, and packaging production equipment.
  • Weld, perform sheet metal work and employ basic shop floor skills (lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools).
  • Install, move, and relocate machinery/equipment according to blueprints and other drawings.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and equipment manuals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead or Supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in the food industry and knowledge of GMP’s and SQF audits.
Essential Skills and Abilities
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Working Conditions
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and power industrial truck.
  • Exposure to cold, wet, and/or humid conditions.
  • Loud noise level in the work environment.
Physical Demands
  • Stand, talk, or hear regularly.
  • Walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms frequently.
  • Sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally.
  • Lift and or move up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and more than 100 pounds occasionally.
Pay and Benefits

The hourly pay range is $27.00–$35.00. The position may also be eligible for overtime pay and shift differentials.
