Job summary

Pretium Packaging is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our manufacturing equipment running smoothly and maximize production uptime. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and complete repairs to support continuous operations in our Illinois facility.

You will work with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, read schematics and blueprints, and log service activity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2+ years as a maintenance technician, preferably within plastics.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Proficient in diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on industrial equipment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Familiarity with reading manuals, schematics, and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of machinery to identify and address issues.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and troubleshoot to minimize downtime.
• Perform repairs on machinery and equipment across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Collaborate with production to develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance work, parts used, and costs.
• Recommend and implement improvements to equipment and processes for efficiency.
• Keep a clean, organized work area and proper tool storage.
• Perform mold changes and PM work on molds.
• Execute machining, milling, and metal fabrication as required.
• Handle other duties as assigned.

We are hiring for a Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency. This is a crucial role in our organization, as you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and carrying out repairs to keep our production processes running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of machinery to identify and address any potential issues or concerns.
• Promptly respond to equipment breakdowns and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.

Qualifications And Skills

• Minimum 2+ years of experience as a maintenance technician, preferably within the plastics industry.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Proficient in conducting diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on industrial equipment.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proven ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.

• Experience with plastics blow molding operations (injection blow molding, extrusion blow molding, etc.) is a plus.
