Job description

Guardian has a need for a Full-Time Maintenance Technician to join our team at Briarcreek & City Center! Briarcreek & City Center are affordable apartment communities in Beaverton & Hillsboro, OR with 216 units total.

The Maintenance Technician's primary role will be to support the Community Managers by ensuring site safety and completion of required property maintenance necessary to maintain excellent curb appeal and the overall appearance and quality of the properties on a scheduled basis.

This includes prioritizing and processing work orders, which may involve urgent and routine maintenance of property and apartment units. The technician is responsible for ensuring all maintenance work complies with OSHA regulations and Guardian policies. They will coordinate with other staff and vendors to provide outstanding customer service, ensure timely and proactive maintenance, safeguard the properties' financial health, and complete all reports on time.

We seek a dynamic self-starter who enjoys teamwork and excels in a fast-paced, flexible, hands-on environment. The ideal candidate will be organized, professional, and communicative. Must have at least one year of experience in property maintenance, building engineering, or a related field. Must own or have access to a properly insured vehicle, a valid driver's license, and insurance.

Schedule: 40 hours/week, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Compensation: $27/hr + Benefits!

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • At least one year of experience in property maintenance, repairs, or construction
  • Own or have access to necessary tools and materials
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to complete training and attend sessions as required
  • Own or access to insured vehicle, valid license
  • Pool certification (CPO) if property has a pool

Essential Functions:

  • Represent Guardian professionally at all times
  • Support property management efforts
  • Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations
  • Maintain exterior and grounds for curb appeal
  • Identify and report repairs and liabilities
  • Respond to service requests and complete work orders timely
  • Keep accurate records of property conditions
  • Inspect property and coordinate vendor work
  • Be on call for emergencies as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality of all company and property information
  • Record work hours accurately
  • Perform other duties as assigned
