JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician II will lead a team to ensure a safe and well-maintained store environment for Nordstrom customers and employees. Supporting the Facility Manager, this role will ensure stores are ready for daily operations and will focus on:

• Maintaining HVAC, Vertical Transportation, Restaurants, Entries and Signs, and Building Systems readiness
• Responding to break-fix requests, troubleshooting, and delegating work orders
• Communicating with Store Leadership, supporting vendor relations, and managing administrative tasks

As a lead technician, you will support repairs and maintenance across multiple Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom Rack locations, mentoring other technicians to grow their skills.

A day in the life…

• Leading and performing preventive maintenance on equipment
• Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues
• Operating building controls and monitoring systems
• Managing alarms and building rounds
• Performing manual labor tasks as needed
• Handling administrative tasks like parts ordering and vendor management
• Promoting safety and acting as a safety champion
• Representing the facilities team in meetings and documenting outcomes
• Completing maintenance routines and mentoring technicians
• Training new employees on equipment and systems
• Responding to emergencies and updating CMMS records
• Coordinating with contractors, vendors, and property managers
• Ensuring compliance with safety codes and regulations

You’ve got this if…

• You have a High School Diploma/GED; higher education preferred
• You have 5-7 years of hands-on facilities experience, especially in mechanical maintenance
• You have 5+ years of experience in predictive and preventive maintenance
• You possess skills in HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs
• You can troubleshoot basic systems and signals
• You work independently and meet deadlines
• You communicate effectively across organizational levels
• You are safety-conscious, self-motivated, and proficient with Microsoft Office and CMMS systems
• Experience with computer networking and project management is a plus
• You can work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and off-hours

Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing, and lifting loads over 50 lbs.
