Role

The Maintenance Technician II will help lead a team to provide a safe and well-maintained store environment for Nordstrom customers and employees. This role will support the Facility Manager (FM) to ensure stores are ready for business daily. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring HVAC, Vertical Transportation, Restaurants, Entries and Signs, and Building Systems are operational for daily business
  • Responding to break-fix and on-demand requests, troubleshooting, and delegating workorders to team members
  • Communicating with Store Leadership, participating in meetings, supporting vendor relations, and handling administrative tasks such as ordering parts and scheduling meetings
Job Description

Summary: The Maintenance Technician II will lead a team to maintain a safe store environment, support daily operations, and mentor other technicians. The position covers multiple Nordstrom locations within a business node.

Daily Responsibilities:
  • Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
  • Operate building control systems and monitor building operations
  • Conduct rounds, identify malfunctions, and report issues
  • Perform manual tasks like lifting and material movement
  • Handle administrative duties including parts ordering and vendor communication
  • Follow safety procedures and promote a safety-first environment
  • Attend meetings and document outcomes
  • Train new employees on equipment and systems
  • Respond to emergencies as needed
  • Maintain CMMS records and inventory
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and property managers
  • Comply with all safety and building codes
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED; higher education preferred
  • 5-7 years of hands-on facilities experience, especially in mechanical maintenance
  • Experience with HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, including low voltage and logical devices
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS systems
  • Knowledge of computer networking and electromechanical systems
  • Project management skills are a plus
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and off-hours
Physical Requirements:

Stooping, standing, walking, climbing, lifting/carrying 50+ lbs, with accommodations as needed.
