JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician II will lead a team to ensure a safe and well-maintained store environment for Nordstrom customers and employees. This role supports the Facility Manager (FM) in preparing stores for daily business and focuses on key areas such as HVAC, vertical transportation, restaurant equipment, signage, and building systems.

Responsibilities include responding to repair requests, troubleshooting, delegating work orders, communicating with store leadership, supporting vendor relations, and managing administrative tasks like ordering parts and attending meetings.

As a lead technician, you will repair and maintain equipment and systems, develop your skills, and mentor other technicians. This position supports multiple Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack locations within a business node.

A Day in the Life

• Lead and perform scheduled and on-demand maintenance on critical and non-critical equipment
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues related to store operations
• Operate and monitor building controls and systems, including troubleshooting alarms and verifying proper operation
• Conduct building rounds, identify malfunctions, and report issues
• Perform manual labor tasks such as lifting and moving materials
• Assist with administrative tasks including parts ordering, vendor management, and meetings
• Promote safety by following procedures like LOTO, PPE, and working at heights
• Represent the facilities team in meetings, document outcomes, and support training of new employees
• Maintain accurate maintenance records in CMMS and manage parts inventory
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and property managers
• Ensure compliance with safety codes and regulations

You’ve Got This If...

• You have a High School Diploma/GED; higher education is a plus
• You have 5-7 years of hands-on facilities experience, especially in mechanical maintenance
• You have 5+ years of experience with predictive and preventative maintenance
• You are skilled in HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs
• You can troubleshoot electrical and logical devices, including low voltage signals
• You can work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and communicate effectively
• You are committed to safety, customer service, and self-motivation
• You are proficient in Microsoft Office, CMMS, and ordering systems like Coupa
• You have knowledge of computer networking and electromechanical systems
• Project management experience is a plus
• You can work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and off-hours

Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing, and lifting/carrying loads over 50 lbs.
