Job summary

BlueScope Recycling and Materials LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on plant and mobile equipment at our Delta, OH site. You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, interpret schematics, and conduct inspections to ensure safe, efficient operations.

The role requires 1–3 years of related maintenance experience, a high school diploma, and strong teamwork and communication skills.

• 1–3 years of related maintenance experience (industrial or mobile equipment preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and routine repairs on plant and mobile equipment.
• Conduct periodic inspections to identify wear, damage, and replacement needs; ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, including loaders, shears, grapples, skid steers, forklifts, shredders, conveyors, and hydraulic systems.
• Perform welding, grinding, torching, and weld setup as required.
• Safely set up and disassemble machinery and equipment.
• Follow safety policies and regulatory requirements and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

BlueScope Recycling buys scrap from industrial generators, wholesale suppliers, and the general public, focusing on delivering the highest level of service.Summary: The Maintenance Technician II performs a wide range of maintenance and repair activities under moderate supervision. This role is considered fully proficient within a specific technical discipline and is responsible for maintaining and servicing plant equipment and mobile equipment within the scrap yard to support safe and efficient operations.Duties and Responsibilities:Perform preventative maintenance and routine repairs on plant and mobile equipment.Conduct periodic inspections to identify wear, damage, and replacement needs; ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.Utilize technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to troubleshoot, diagnose, calibrate, and repair equipment, engines, and compressors.Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, including but not limited to loaders, shears, grapples, skid steers, forklifts, tractor/trailers, shredders, conveyors, and hydraulic systems.Perform welding, grinding, torching, and weld setup as required.Safely set up and disassemble machinery and equipment.Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including proper handling of hazardous materials.Maintain a clean and organized work environment.Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other departments regarding equipment status and repair needs.Note: This list is not intended to be all-inclusive.
