Capital Vacations seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician 2 to maintain resort facilities and equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency. You will supervise maintenance staff, plan preventive tasks, and handle emergency repairs to support a top-tier guest experience.

The role requires hands-on skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and pool maintenance, plus strong problem-solving and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in supervisory-level resort maintenance.
• 1–2 years of building and facilities maintenance experience.
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification.
• OSHA guidelines knowledge is expected.

Responsibilities

• Maintain resort facilities and equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Supervise maintenance staff and train junior personnel.
• Schedule and perform routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance.
• Repair and upkeep of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC tasks.
• Maintain swimming pool and related systems.
• Coordinate with other departments and assist with budget considerations.

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician 2 to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining various equipment and systems to ensure their optimal functioning. You will perform routine inspections, troubleshoot issues, and carry out repairs as necessary. The ideal candidate has a strong background in maintenance work, possesses excellent problem-solving skills, and is committed to ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

What you're great at:

• Accountable for the safe and efficient maintenance of the resort through effective supervision of maintenance staff
• Assists as required in solving complex maintenance problems, capable of rapid decision-making. Assists in the implementation of maintenance plans with considerations of budgetary constraints
• Supervises the overall activities of the maintenance staff as required. Trains and mentors development of staff. Follows up on maintenance technician jobs to ensure the quality of work
• Schedules and performs routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment
• Completes work orders and daily projects reported by the front desk and otherwise assigned during shift
• Assists in assigning duties to all employees
• Performs a variety of skilled work in the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of resort buildings and units, including carpentry, plumbing, filter maintenance, and light fixture maintenance
• Maintains swimming pool
• Coordinates or installs, inspects, repairs and maintains the electrical, plumbing, mechanical and other related systems
• Coordinates or installs, operates and maintains the heating, cooling and ventilation systems
• Performs all other duties as assigned

Here’s what you have already achieved:

• High School diploma/GED
• Have a valid driver's license and proof of insurance
• Have and maintain a good driving record clear of significant violations
• Degree from a vocational school or BSc/BA in Facility Management is preferred
• Experience in supervisory-level resort maintenance
• One (1) to two (2) years of experience in building and facilities maintenance
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification
• Hazardous material handling training within six (6) months of hire date
• One (1) year experience in the care, maintenance, and repair of large, commercial, or public swimming pools and associated equipment and facilities.
• Ability to multi-task, ability to spot safety risks and address quickly, proficient knowledge of OSHA Guidelines and regulations
• Excellent communication skills; written and verbal, organization and leadership skills, problem solving skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office products
