Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. in Elyria, OH is hiring a Maintenance Technician for 1st shift at $38/hour. You will assemble, disassemble and repair manufacturing equipment, rebuild parts, fabricate replacements, and perform welding and machining tasks in a hands-on role.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, prior manufacturing experience, and proficiency with lathes, grinders, milling machines, and welding. Tow motor experience is a plus.

What You’ll Do

As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll be part of our team located in Elyria, OH. You’ll get to:

• Assemble, disassemble and repair manufacturing equipment.
• Rebuild, repair or install parts in manufacturing equipment.
• Fabricate replacement parts for manufacturing equipment.
• Fabricate other items as required to support manufacturing.
• Perform ordinary arc, T.I.G. welding, and acetylene welding.
• Perform a variety of bench and machining operations.
• Diagnose and remedy minor electrical trouble.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized workspace. Follow all health and safety regulations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience in a cold heading facility preferred.
• Proficient with lathes, grinders, milling machines and other machine shop equipment.
• Proficient in welding. Certification preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Prior tow motor experience.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment requiring the employee to stand and walk for majority of an 8 to 10-hour day.
• Bend, lift product, equipment and tools up to 50 pounds throughout the day.
• Push or pull product up to 200 pounds.
• Use hand tools up to 20 pounds over extended periods of time.
• Ability to work at heights.
