Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker is seeking an electrical/mechanical maintenance technician for 1st shift, Monday through Friday, at our Holliston, MA facility. You will perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on paint line equipment, diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, and calibrate machinery to ensure reliable operation.

The role requires a technical school or higher, 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience with emphasis on troubleshooting,

Qualifications

  • Technical school, military training, or Associate's/Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical fields.
  • 3–5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience with focus on troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings and manuals.
  • Proficient with motors, sensors, PLCs and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong safety knowledge and lockout/tagout familiarity.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on paint line equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
  • Test and calibrate machinery to ensure proper operation after maintenance.
  • Maintain records of maintenance, repairs and parts usage.
  • Follow safety protocols and comply with workplace standards.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance and engineering teams to resolve issues.
  • Support continuous improvement and TPM to maximize equipment effectiveness.
  • Report and help resolve compliance issues; maintain documentation.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned to support business objectives.

The Job
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on paint line equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
  • Test and calibrate machinery to ensure proper operation after maintenance or repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
  • Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with workplace standards.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance and engineering teams to resolve equipment issues and support continuous improvement.
  • Support continuous improvement and TPM to maximize equipment effectiveness.
  • Report and help resolve compliance issues; maintain required documentation.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned to support business objectives.

  • Technical school, military training, or Associate's/Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical fields.
  • Three to five years documented experience in industrial electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment with an emphasis on machine troubleshooting and repairs (as opposed to installation work).
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing motors, controls, sensors, PLCs, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • Skilled in using electrical diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, ammeters).
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and lockout/tagout procedures.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Will be working in a manufacturing plant with varying climate
  • Must be able and willing to work daily and weekly overtime as required
  • Able to stand continuously for 8 to 10 hours daily
  • Able to lift, push and/or pull up to 33lbs individually and up to 66lbs as a team
  • Must be able to handle elevated heights of up to 50 feet (for plant lighting systems and servicing overhead cranes)
  • Must be able to handle tight spaces.
