Overview

The Maintenance Technician position requires electrical troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude. Candidates should have at least five years’ experience in packaging and equipment maintenance, with emphasis on electrical installation, PLC knowledge, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

This role involves machine installation, control wiring, troubleshooting to component level, PLC troubleshooting (not programming), anchoring equipment, conduit work, wiring, termination, maintenance and rebuilding of equipment, conveyor systems, robotics, and other routine duties.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma required
  • 5 years’ experience in packaging and equipment maintenance, focusing on electrical installation, preventive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting in conveyors, robotics, over wrappers, palletizers, shrink wrappers, casers, air compressors, and boilers
  • Experience with automated conveyor equipment preferred
  • Certifications in electrical, mechanical, motor control relay logic, and schematic reading preferred
  • Experience operating boom and scissor lifts required

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Proficiency with basic electrical test instruments (VOM meter, clamp-on amp meter, etc.)
  • Ability to troubleshoot sensors, photo eyes, and their relation to PLC operation
  • Ability to troubleshoot pneumatic cylinders and MAC valves
  • Ability to maintain and operate boilers and steam tunnels
