Cartamundi is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Dallas, TX facility on the 1st shift. You will perform machine changeovers, set-ups, and preventive maintenance to keep converting department machines running smoothly.

The role requires reading calipers and both SAE and metric measurements, plus familiarity with wiring diagrams and technical drawings. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in manufacturing or machine repair, basic computer skills, and the ability to learn SAP for logging

Responsibilities

• Perform machine changeovers and set-ups for card cutter and wrapping operations.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and maintain records of department machinery.
• Coordinate with maintenance team to obtain parts and tools.
• Adhere to safety policies and Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records and backstock of parts.
• Assist in acquiring repair parts and expendables as needed.
• Stand and walk throughout shift; lift up to 35 pounds.

The Maintenance Technician performs machine changeovers and resets various components of Converting Department machines to support our Customers. Additionally, the Set Up Mechanic repairs machines, conducts preventive and proactive maintenance, and maintains records of all the department’s machinery and peripherals. What you’ll do as a Maintenance Technician:

• Work closely with the company safety officer to ensure all machines meet safety standards.
• Ensure a safe working environment free from environmental or mechanical hazards.
• Adhere to all safety policies and regulations; Strictly follow Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
• Work in close association with the Maintenance Team to ensure continuity and coordination of effort to keep machines running.
• Keep detailed maintenance records of all associated equipment.
• Manage the backstock of set-up parts and materials and submit orders when needed.
• Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager or Supervisor to obtain all necessary repair parts and expendables.
• Manage the department’s issued tools.
• Perform machine set up tasks related to card cutter and wrapping operations including set-up and adjustment of feeder, blades, and delivery.
• Fabricate rails and guides to move items through conveyors or machines.
• Augment maintenance personnel and fill gaps to keep the machines running.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and housekeeping of work area.
• Requires personal contact with other employees and company management in a positive, professional manner.
• Must be able to read SAE and metric measurements and use quality tools to verify quality standards to ensure the setup is correct.
• Must be able to read basic wiring diagrams and data from technical manuals to apply to the machine and identify the root cause of an issue.
• Must be able to read calipers and use a torque wrench.

We’re looking for a Maintenance Technician with:

• Able to read calipers and both SAE and metric measurements.
• Read technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• At least 1-3 years’ experience in the manufacturing or machine repair environment
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Word and Excel desired; Ability to learn basic SAP as it applies to logging make ready time.
• Knowledge of industrial blade sharpening highly desired, but not required.
