Job summary

Dexterra Group is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to support day-to-day upkeep, repair, and appearance of a workforce accommodations facility in the United States. The role involves painting, drywall patching, carpentry, and equipment troubleshooting, with a focus on safety and on-site collaboration.

You will work under the Maintenance Manager across the site, performing preventative maintenance, assisting with kitchen equipment, and supporting other trades as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance, facilities support, or building upkeep.
• Practical experience with repairs, painting, and grounds maintenance.
• Experience maintaining or troubleshooting commercial kitchen equipment is an asset.
• Comfortable using hand tools and basic power tools.
• Ability to work independently and manage daily maintenance tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Physically capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 35–50 pounds.
• Willingness to follow all safety procedures and site policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and minor repairs, including painting, drywall patching, carpentry, and replacing fixtures.
• Support grounds maintenance, including cleanup, landscaping, and seasonal tasks.
• Assist with inspection and upkeep of buildings and common areas.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on equipment and appliances.
• Support maintenance of commercial kitchen equipment under direction.
• Complete basic preventative maintenance tasks and checklists.
• Report larger repair needs or safety concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Use hand and power tools safely and appropriately.
• Assist other trades or contractors as required.
