Job summary

Fortress Nutrition, LLC is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support our high-speed beverage canning operations on 2nd shift. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production equipment to minimize downtime and keep lines running efficiently.

The role requires hands-on work with mechanical and electrical systems, problem-solving, and timely communication with production teams. Overtime and on-call support are part of the schedule.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in industrial manufacturing on high-speed equipment (food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or similar preferred).
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Must be reliable, flexible, and able to adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production equipment using mechanical and electrical knowledge.
  • Respond quickly to production line calls and resolve issues to minimize downtime.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and facility systems.
  • Support product setups, changeovers, and general production operations.
  • Monitor equipment for unusual sounds, movements, or performance issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and coordinate with vendors as needed.

Role Overview

Fortress Nutrition is growing and we're looking for a skilled, driven and reliable Maintenance Technician to support our high-speed Beverage Canning operations on 2nd shift. If you enjoy hands‑on troubleshooting, working with machinery and equipment, and being the person who keeps production running, this is a great opportunity to join a fast‑paced manufacturing team.


This role is critical to minimizing downtime, maintaining equipment reliability, and supporting production in real time.

Schedule


  • Monday – Thursday: 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM or 1:00 PM – 11:00 PM

  • 3‑day weekends (Friday‑Sunday)

  • Overtime and weekends required based on production needs

  • Must be available for on‑call support as needed


Training Schedule


  • Monday – Friday: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (1st Shift)

  • Hands‑on training to learn equipment, systems, and processes


Note: Maintenance schedules may be adjusted or staggered based on business needs.


Responsibilities


  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production equipment using mechanical and electrical knowledge

  • Respond quickly to production line calls and resolve issues to minimize downtime

  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and facility systems

  • Support product setups, changeovers, and general production operations

  • Monitor equipment for unusual sounds, movements, or performance issues

  • Conduct root cause analysis and coordinate with vendors as needed

  • Disassemble and repair equipment, replacing defective parts as required

  • Perform minor facility repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.)

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation

  • Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, and regulatory standards (OSHA, FDA, EPA, etc.)

  • Provide support and guidance to production teams when needed

  • Follow all safety and quality procedures at all times

  • Perform all other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Required Qualifications



  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in industrial manufacturing on high-speed equipment (food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or similar preferred)

  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English

  • Must be reliable, flexible, and able to adapt to changing priorities

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and be on‑call as needed


Preferred Qualifications



  • Associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related field

  • Experience with high-speed packaging equipment and PLC systems

  • Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, and food safety & quality standards

  • Experience in food, beverage, bottling, canning, high-speed packaging, or other regulated manufacturing environments


Must operate with a high sense of urgency at all times. This role requires immediate response to equipment issues and constant monitoring to keep production running. Individuals who are not attentive, proactive, responsive, and engaged on the floor, or are not fast-moving in addressing issues, will be unsuccessful in this role.


Physical Requirements


  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 12 hours per shift)

  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle and operate tools and equipment

  • Bending, kneeling, climbing (on ladders/mezzanines up to 20 feet) and reaching as needed

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis


Pay & Benefits


  • Starting Pay: $33.00–$36.00 per hour, with higher starting rates offered based on experience and qualifications

  • + $1.00 Shift Premium

  • Double Time Pay for any weekend work, and for 50+ hours per workweek
