Job summary

Universal Pure in Villa Rica, GA seeks a Maintenance Technician to support facilities and production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You’ll troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, ensuring equipment is ready for operation.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree, 5+ years in manufacturing, and strong English communication, attention to detail, and safety focus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace AC and DC electrical equipment and controls.
• Repair and maintain high-pressure pasteurization and related machinery.
• Inspect and repair mechanical components: motors, drive chains, sprockets, belts, bearings, conveyors.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair pneumatic systems and high-pressure components.
• Perform preventative maintenance on conveyors, HVAC, pumps, and other plant equipment.
• Adhere to Document Control Policy and safety standards; maintain punctual attendance.
• Handle minor tasks related to duties and be on-call as needed.

Brief Description

At Universal Pure, we’re dedicated to giving people everywhere safe, fresh, and delicious food to eat and drink. We provide high-pressure processing (HPP), value-added services (VAS) and cold storage for our partners in the food industry. We are focused on safety and driven by service. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the following, including but not limited to facilities maintenance, Powered Industrial Equipment, and stationery equipment. The Maintenance Technician collaborates with the Production to ensure the equipment is ready to go.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, And Key Accountabilities

• Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace AC and DC electrical equipment such as controls, proximity sensors, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, and timers.
• Repair and maintain high-pressure pasteurization equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace mechanical components such as motors, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and/or replace pneumatic equipment such as hydronic and hydraulic seals, high pressure components, air compressors, pumps, hoses and cylinders.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections of plant equipment such as conveyors, water heaters, HVAC, water pumps, heat exchangers, evaporators, fans and powered industrial equipment.
• Adherence to the facility’s Document Control Policy following completion of training.
• Follow health, safety, and cleanliness standards
• Excellent attendance and punctuality for an hourly role
• Handle any minor tasks related to the duties of the position

Additional Responsibilities

• On-call ability as needed
• Provides report information to the leadership team

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Possesses a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
• Minimum 5 yrs experience in Manufacturing

Qualifications

• Welding Experience preferred but not required
• Must have flexibility with work schedule and job duties when the location environment changes.

Working Conditions

• Within a manufacturing, warehousing, and production type facility. Must be able to withstand cold temperatures.
• Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds.
• Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.
• The work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
• Work may involve potential exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
