Job summary

Universal Pure is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support automated banding and assembly equipment, conveyors, VFDs, sensors, motors, and pneumatic systems in a manufacturing setting in Lincoln, NE.

You will work first and second shifts, Monday–Friday, 7:00AM-3:30PM and 3:30PM-12:00AM, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance, and collaborate with Production to keep equipment ready for use.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace AC and DC electrical equipment such as controls, proximity sensors, photo eyes, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain banding machines and associated assembly equipment.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and/or replace pneumatic equipment such as regulators, valves, hoses, fittings, and cylinders.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections of banders, conveyors, denesters, and other production equipment.
  • Assist with basic PLC, HMI, sensor, and equipment communication.

Education

Technical degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance or related field

Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting in the maintenance of automated

banding and assembly equipment, conveyors, denesters, VFDs, sensors, motors, and

pneumatic systems. The Maintenance Technician collaborates with Production department to ensure

the equipment is ready for use.

Shift: First shift & Second Shift
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00AM -3:30 PM & 3:30PM-12:00AM

Major tasks, responsibilities, and key accountabilities:
  • Troubleshoot, adjust, and replace AC and DC electrical equipment such as
  • controls, proximity sensors, photo eyes, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, and
  • Troubleshoot and maintain banding machines and associated assembly equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain VFDs, motors, conveyors, and tray denesters.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace mechanical components such as
  • motors, drive chains, sprockets, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and/or replace pneumatic equipment such as
  • regulators, valves, hoses, fittings, and cylinders.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections of banders, conveyors, denesters,
  • and other production equipment.
  • Assist with basic PLC, HMI, sensor, and equipment communication
  • Maintain critical spare parts and document equipment repairs and recurring issues.
  • Work with equipment vendors and technical support when needed.
  • Adherence to the facility’s Document Control Policy following completion of
  • Follow health, safety, and cleanliness standards.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality for an hourly role.
  • Handle any minor tasks related to the duties of the position.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • On-call ability as needed.
  • Provides report information to the leadership team.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technical degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical, Automation, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 yrs experience in Manufacturing.
  • Experience with automated equipment, VFDs, conveyors, or packaging equipment

Travel Required:
  • Minimal domestic travel required, typically dictated by business needs and coverage.
Working Conditions
  • Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Physical work is a primary part of the job (more than 70%)
  • This role operates in a wet and cold/refrigerated environment (around 35 degrees F) within a manufacturing, warehousing, and production facility. Must be able to withstand cold temperatures for extended periods.
  • Must be able to walk the production and warehouse floors and maintain a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Universal Pure facilities may process, pack, and/or store products containing allergenic food ingredients as referenced by the FDA. Occasional exposure may occur; employees should inform their direct manager of any food allergies.
