Job description

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and troubleshooting high-speed processing and packaging equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and installing systems and utilities within a 24/7 Dairy Food Processing Facility. Must be a team player to ensure line efficiency goals are met. The work schedule is a 10-hour shift that rotates days, from 2:00 pm to 12:30 am or 10:00 pm to 8:30 am. Multiple openings are available.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and repair using skills in Industrial Electrical 480V, AC/DC Theory, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Pumps, Mechanical Maintenance, Motors, Digital Electronics, Print Reading, Control Circuits, Power Supplies, Power Distribution, Test Instruments, and Computers.
  • Support production requirements by understanding operational urgency.
  • Ensure safe operating practices for oneself and others.
  • Follow established preventative maintenance programs.
  • Repair and replace defective parts.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Repair electrical instrumentation and control equipment.
  • Collaborate effectively with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operators, demonstrating good communication skills.
  • Boiler operation and ammonia experience are a plus.
  • Meet a minimum of a twelfth-grade level in math and reading.
  • Complete the Maintenance Skills Evaluation.
Experience & Education Requirements:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or one year of related mechanical maintenance experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
Work Environment:

The employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical shock risks, and vibration. Occasionally, the environment includes wet or humid conditions, high places, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, outdoor weather, and extreme temperatures. The noise level is typically very loud.

Compensation:

Pay ranges from $26.23 to $36.23 per hour. This rate is part of the total rewards package, which may include health and dental insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and holidays.
