Job description

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and troubleshooting high-speed processing and packaging equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and installing systems and utilities within a 24/7 Dairy Food Processing Facility. The role requires a team member dedicated to ensuring line efficiency goals are met.

Work Schedule: The position offers a 10-hour shift schedule that rotates weekly, with shifts from 2:00 pm to 12:30 am or 10:00 pm to 8:30 am. Multiple openings are available.

Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment using skills in industrial electrical systems (480V), AC/DC theory, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, mechanical systems, motors, digital electronics, print reading, control circuits, power supplies, and computers.
  • Support operational urgency and production requirements.
  • Ensure safe operating practices for oneself and others.
  • Perform preventative maintenance using established programs.
  • Replace and repair defective parts and adjust device and control instrument functions.
  • Repair electrical instrumentation and control equipment.
  • Collaborate effectively with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams.
  • Experience with boiler operation and ammonia systems is a plus.
  • Meet minimum education requirements of a high school diploma or equivalent in math and reading.
  • Complete Maintenance Skills Evaluation.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or one year of related mechanical maintenance experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
Work Environment:

Employees will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical shock risks, vibration, and occasionally to wet or humid conditions, high places, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, extreme weather, and loud noise levels.

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay ranges from $26.23 to $36.23 per hour, as per the collective bargaining agreement. This includes components like group health/dental insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and holidays.
