Job Description

RR Donnelley is looking to add a Full-Time Maintenance Technician to our Belleville, Michigan Operations!

2nd Shift - 5:00 p.m. - 3:30 a.m.

Position Summary
  • Provides maintenance and repairs to production machinery, computer systems, and the facility.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
  1. Ensure proper operation of machines (Cheshire’s, Ink Jet Printers, and Alpha liners).
  2. Perform all maintenance activities in a safe, clean, and efficient manner.
  3. Replace and repair parts, rebuild equipment, and align gears, shafts, pulleys, and belts.
  4. Utilize illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the repair, modification, and maintenance of equipment.
  5. Perform inventory control of parts and equipment used from inventory.
  6. Respond to all assigned maintenance work orders in a timely manner.
  7. Respond promptly to all red lights and maintenance requests on the production floor.
  8. Perform preventive maintenance (PM) activities according to the preventive maintenance plan.
  9. Record activities using the proper PM checklist sheets.
  10. Perform housekeeping duties including work area clean-up, machine and equipment cleaning, and sweeping the production floor after clean-up.
  11. Acquire detailed knowledge of equipment components to diagnose electrical or mechanical malfunctions and provide corrective maintenance.
  12. Participate in maintenance training programs to improve knowledge, skills, and abilities, with a focus on electrical or HVAC fields.
  13. Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and safety instructions.
Qualifications
Education & Knowledge
  • High school diploma or general education certification preferred.
  • Effective communication skills in English preferred.
  • Mechanical or electrical experience.
  • Technical degree or equivalent experience.
Experience / Skills / Abilities
  • At least 1 year of related electro-mechanical experience.
  • Proficiency in performing preventive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose equipment faults and malfunctions.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to perform Level B & C equipment preventative maintenance.
Communication & Contacts
  • Communicate effectively with plant personnel, leadership, and outside vendors.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
  • Walking, standing, and lifting up to 40 lbs. regularly.
  • Bending, stooping, and climbing.
Additional Information

Hourly Pay Rate: $23.00 - $25.00

The actual rate may vary based on education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. The total compensation may include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with match, life insurance, tuition assistance, maternity leave, adoption assistance, and employer/partner discounts.
