Job summary

Hologic is seeking an Maintenance Technician 1 to implement and maintain an engineering change order system, including product improvements, repairs, and new product releases. The role supports 2nd shift from 2PM to 10:30PM, with travel between facilities for ongoing maintenance.

Responsibilities include maintaining lyophilizers, filling, labeling, packaging and water system equipment, troubleshooting electrical/mechanical systems, and working with vendors for parts and issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of using hand tools, multimeters and pneumatic tools.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics.
• Awareness of safety guidelines and standards.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic problems.
• Windows-based computer systems knowledge.
• Knowledge of microprocessor and automation controls.
• Must have reliable vehicle and driver’s license.
• Ability to fabricate parts with mills, lathes, drill press, and power saws.
• Detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication.
• Experience in GMP environment preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Performs scheduled and unscheduled equipment maintenance on lyophilizers, liquid fillers, labeling equipment, packaging equipment, water system equipment and filtration.
• Performs troubleshooting on electrical and mechanical systems on manufacturing equipment.
• Interacts with vendors to solve problems, determine part costs and purchase parts.
• Diagnose and repair low voltage DC and AC electrical wiring/hardware
• Maintains equipment shop tools, equipment, and organization
• Writes procedures, documents, and reports.
• Travel between various Hologic facilities for equipment maintenance
• Must be able to work weekends or other shifts on occasions.

• Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment problems.
• Knowledge of windows-based computer systems.
• Knowledge of microprocessor and automation controls.
• Must have reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license to support multiple facilities
• Ability to operate mills, lathes, drill press, and power saws for fabrication of machine parts
• Detailed oriented with strong verbal and written communication
• Ability to articulate information to coworkers and vendors
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Experience in a GMP environment preferred

Education and Experience:

• Typically requires High school, Trade school, or Military and 0-2 years related experience or AA

• The annualized base salary range for this role is $42,000 to $63,000 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
