Job summary

Hartmann North America in Rolla, MO seeks an experienced maintenance technician to operate and monitor complex process machinery used in paper and cellulose production. You will read drawings, install and position equipment, and fabricate parts to overhaul and set up machinery, while maintaining safety and housekeeping standards.

• Self-motivated with ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
• Must be able to pass a mechanical exam.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and manuals.
• Install machinery according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
• Operate hoisting devices to position machinery during installation and repair.
• Adjust machinery to repair or replace defective parts.
• Fabricate parts via lathes, mills, grinders and Mig/Tig welding.
• Assemble machinery prior to installation with welding equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and keep maintenance records in CMMS.
• Inspect machinery to detect irregularities and malfunctions.
• Train new workers and assist in training as needed.
• Startup, shutdown, and adjust equipment; maintain safe operations.

JOB FUNCTION: The ability to solve or troubleshoot mechanical problems will be an asset. Operate and monitor multifunction process control machinery and equipment to control the processing of paper and other cellulose materials in the production of pulp.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years industrial experience.
• Proof of formal training in specialty areas (i.e., Pneumatics, Hydraulics, mechanical, PLC’s, Instrumentation, etc.)
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
• Must be able to pass a mechanical exam.

Must be available for Night Shift and weekends.

General Responsibilities

• Perform all work with adherence to safety and housekeeping procedures
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
• Install industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools
• Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during installation, set-up and repair of machinery
• Adjust machinery to repair or replace defective parts
• Proficiency or ability to learn to operate machine tools such as lathes, mills, and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintain or set-up machinery
• Proficiency or ability to learn to operate Mig and Tig welders, cutting torches, plasma cutters, metal brakes, metal sheers, and other such tools necessary to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintain or set-up machinery
• Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment
• Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.
• Work additional hours as necessary to maintain operations in emergency situations and through major planned shutdowns
• Perform all tasks assigned, participate in specific training programs determined by the needs of the company, and to keep skills current.
• Startup, shutdown, setup and adjust equipment as required
• Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
• Train or assist in training new workers
• Maintain and complete records in our CMMS System.
• Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
