Job summary

Liberty Tire Recycling is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Minerva, OH. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing equipment and systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with hands-on troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical components.

You will perform preventative maintenance, service trailers, and support conveyor systems while adhering to safety standards and LOTO procedures. Weekend or night shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Two years of electrical training or equivalent repair experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in mechanical/electrical repair within a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with safety procedures including LOTO and PPE requirements.
• Ability to lift 15–50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment and systems.
• Service trailers and repair/replace industrial equipment as needed.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues using testing devices.
• Maintain and repair conveyor systems including belts and alignment.
• Follow safety guidelines and LOTO procedures at all times.

Job Summary:

Liberty Tire Recycling is seeking a Maintenance Technician. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining and repairing a variety of equipment and systems, ensuring safe and efficient operations. This position requires a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and servicing mechanical and electrical systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of maintenance tasks including electrical and mechanical repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of equipment and systems.
• Service trailers and repair and replace industrial equipment as needed.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
• Maintain and repair conveyor systems: install belts, tighten, adjust, straighten, align, and replace parts.
• Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to ensure safe working conditions.
• Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
• Ensure that all work is completed following safety guidelines and procedures.
• Ability to work in awkward, confined spaces, using proper lifting and rigging techniques for heavy objects.
• Work in both indoor and outdoor environments, which may include extreme temperatures, hazardous equipment, and slippery surfaces.
• Be self-motivated and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Work in both indoor and outdoor environments, which may include extreme temperatures, hazardous equipment, and slippery surfaces.
• Conveyor experience needed
• Experience in mechanical/electrical repair within a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with high-voltage wiring, especially 480V 3-phase motors.
• Knowledge and experience with motor control systems (preferred).
• Proficiency in multi-craft maintenance and repair, with a focus on both electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ability to lift 15 to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and stretching.
• Willingness to work in challenging environments with extreme temperatures, humidity, and hazardous equipment.
• Availability to work nights and weekends as needed.
• Strong commitment to safety policies and procedures, minimizing risk to self and others.

Education and Experience:

• At least two years of electrical training or experience in mechanical/electrical repair within a manufacturing environment (highly preferred).
• Maintenance manufacturing experience, technical school training, electrical certification, or welding experience (highly preferred).
• Trailer mechanic experience (preferred).
• Previous experience with industrial machinery and equipment maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
