Job summary

Liberty Tire Recycling is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Puyallup, WA facility. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining and repairing a variety of equipment and systems, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

This position requires a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and servicing mechanical and electrical systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This shift runs 7:00pm–7:30am and requires ability to work nights and weekends, lift up to 50 pounds, and

Qualifications

  • Two+ years electrical training or repair experience in manufacturing.
  • Maintenance/manufacturing experience or technical school training.
  • Electrical certification or welding experience preferred.
  • Trailer mechanic experience preferred.
  • Experience with industrial machinery maintenance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical and mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Service trailers and repair industrial equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues with testing devices.
  • Maintain and repair conveyor systems.
  • Follow LOTO procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Work in indoor/outdoor environments and extreme temperatures.
  • Collaborate with team to complete tasks safely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

Liberty Tire Recycling is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Puyallup, WA facility. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining and repairing a variety of equipment and systems, ensuring safe and efficient operations. This position requires a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and servicing mechanical and electrical systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of maintenance tasks including electrical and mechanical repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of equipment and systems.
  • Service trailers and repair and replace industrial equipment as needed.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
  • Maintain and repair conveyor systems: install belts, tighten, adjust, straighten, align, and replace parts.
  • Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to ensure safe working conditions.
  • Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
  • Ensure that all work is completed following safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to work in awkward, confined spaces, using proper lifting and rigging techniques for heavy objects.
  • Work in both indoor and outdoor environments, which may include extreme temperatures, hazardous equipment, and slippery surfaces.
  • Be self-motivated and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Conveyor experience needed
  • Experience in mechanical/electrical repair within a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with high-voltage wiring, especially 480V 3-phase motors.
  • Knowledge and experience with motor control systems (preferred).
  • Proficiency in multi-craft maintenance and repair, with a focus on both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to lift 15 to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and stretching.
  • Willingness to work in challenging environments with extreme temperatures, humidity, and hazardous equipment.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends as needed.
  • Strong commitment to safety policies and procedures, minimizing risk to self and others.
Education and Experience:
  • At least two years of electrical training or experience in mechanical/electrical repair within a manufacturing environment (highly preferred).
  • Maintenance manufacturing experience, technical school training, electrical certification, or welding experience (highly preferred).
  • Trailer mechanic experience (preferred).
  • Previous experience with industrial machinery and equipment maintenance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
