Role Description

This is a full-time, Maintenance Technician role located in West Allis WI. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance and repair on apartment units, common areas, and building systems. Daily tasks include diagnosing maintenance issues, completing work orders, conducting preventive maintenance on equipment, and ensuring all repairs meet safety and quality standards. The role also involves preparing units for new residents, and collaborating with the property management team to provide timely, professional service to residents. The Maintenance Technician may participate in an on-call rotation to respond to urgent maintenance needs outside standard hours.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in general Maintenance & Repair, including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC support, and carpentry.
• Experience with Equipment Maintenance and Industrial Maintenance, particularly in residential or multifamily properties.
• Ability to perform Troubleshooting and Preventive Maintenance to identify issues proactively and extend equipment life.
• Knowledge of building safety standards and compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
• Effective communication skills and a customer-service mindset when interacting with residents and team members.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple work orders, and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Physical capability to lift, carry, and operate tools and equipment, and to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions.
• Previous maintenance experience in apartments or similar settings preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, EPA) are a plus.
