Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED preferred.
• Associate degree in Electronics/Electrical Technology and/or equivalent formal training.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience as Production Operator or Technician.
• General Welding Certification.
• Self-managed and results-driven, with good judgment and safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on material handling systems, packaging equipment, and related production machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and operational issues and implement timely solutions.
• Assist with equipment setup, changeovers, and start-ups.
• Support PLCs and automated systems troubleshooting; coordinate with vendors or internal teams for advanced controls.
• Maintain facility systems including dust collection, plant utilities, and lifting equipment; ensure safe operation.
• Uphold safety with zero safety incidents and report near misses.

Job description

The Maintenance Technician will support our manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems. This role is critical to ensuring equipment uptime, safety, and efficient plant operations.

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on:
• Material handling systems (vacuum conveyance, screw conveyors, powered conveyors)
• Packaging equipment (bottling lines, form/fill/seal machines, ultrasonic sealers)
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and operational issues and implement timely solutions.
• Assist with equipment setup, changeovers, and start-ups.

Automation & Controls

• Support basic troubleshooting of PLCs and automated systems.
• Work with robotics and automated production equipment to maintain functionality.
• Partner with external vendors or internal teams for advanced controls issues.

Facility & Utility Support

• Maintain facility systems including:
• Dust collection systems
• Plant utilities and support equipment
• Ensure proper operation of lifting equipment (job cranes, vacuum lifters)

Safety

• Zero safety violations
• Report all safety incidents and/or near misses.
• Must adhere to all prescribed safety instructions. Heavy machinery will be in use so a safety mindset is required
• All Mayzo employees are responsible for inventory accuracy.
