Job summary

NewCastle Management Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to service our class A apartment communities. You will perform repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, and general carpentry to keep our properties safe and welcoming.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of maintenance experience, is willing to earn HVAC and CPO certifications within six months, and can participate in after-hours on-call coverage.

Qualifications

  • HVAC and CPO certification required or willing to obtain within first 6 months of employment.
  • Availability to take after-hours and on-call emergencies (rotation basis).
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 2 years of maintenance experience in a residential community or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Completion of apartment work orders and apartment turnovers.
  • Perform general carpentry work including wallboard repair, countertop/cabinet replacement, finish carpentry, window/glass repair, door/lock repair, and ceramic tile repair.
  • Maintain and repair appliances, plumbing, minor HVAC issues, and electrical work.
  • Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of communal areas, property buildings, and pool maintenance.
  • Complete preventative maintenance to ensure everything is in working order.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our clients.
  • Monitors and organizes inventory and supplies.
  • Power washing and snow removal at the property as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

We are pursuing an experienced working Maintenance Technician to work within a service team and provide all levels of residential maintenance for a class A property. The ideal candidate possesses 2 years of apartment maintenance experience, is willing to earn HVAC and CPO certifications, and possesses strong maintenance skills.
Summary of Role: The Maintenance Technician provides ongoing facility maintenance and repairs for NewCastle properties. This position’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, fixing machinery, plumbing, HVAC and electrical work to ensure safety standards.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Completion of apartment work orders and apartment turnovers.

  • Perform general carpentry work including wallboard repair, countertop/cabinet replacement, finish carpentry, window/glass repair, door/lock repair, and ceramic tile repair.

  • Maintain and repair appliances, plumbing, minor HVAC issues, and electrical work.

  • Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of communal areas, property buildings, and pool maintenance.

  • Complete preventative maintenance to ensure everything is in working order.

  • Provide exceptional customer service to our clients.

  • Monitors and organizes inventory and supplies.

  • Pick up and deliver supplies as needed.

  • Power washing and snow removal at the property as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Strong customer service skills

  • Excellent problem solving skills.

  • Working knowledge and experience in general apartment maintenance including plumbing, electrical, sheetrock and appliance repair.


Qualifications:


  • Obtain HVAC and CPO Certification required or willing to obtain within first 6 months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Training and /or experience working with HVAC, plumbing or electrical preferred.


Education and Experience:


  • High school diploma or GED

  • At least 2 years of maintenance experience in a residential community or similar preferred.


Physical Requirements:


  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, taking stairs on occasion, and traverse the property and facilities to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance.

  • Physical ability and dexterity to handle tools and machinery skillfully.

  • Endurance to perform tasks such as lifting heavy objects, and operating tools and equipment.

  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move objects up to 100 pounds.
