Job summary

INFICON is seeking a maintenance technician to maintain coating manufacturing equipment and logs, minimize downtime, and support PM programs in a high-precision manufacturing environment.

You will work with engineering, operations, and EHS teams to ensure safe, reliable vacuum deposition systems and equipment readiness, while following strict safety and cleanroom procedures.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience using mechanical tools and electronic test equipment.
• Organized with strong record-keeping.
• Experience handling hazardous materials and applying safety protocols (e.g., pyrophoric).
• Strong communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
• Ability to interface with supervision and work in a team-based environment.
• Proficient with PCs and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs weekly and maintain dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate PM schedules with engineering and materials supervisor.
• Assist in other facilities areas as required with facilities supervisor.
• Perform weekly preventive maintenance on vacuum deposition systems per schedule.
• Replace coating components and other critical parts.
• Disassemble reactor chambers and manage refurbishment process.
• Inspect and document equipment condition before/after maintenance.
• Ensure safety protocols when handling coating precursors.
• Adhere to vacuum tech and cleanroom procedures.
• Identify, respond to, and resolve tool-related emergencies to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with process engineers, operations, and EHS teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of PM procedures and system reliability.

Job Description

Solid professional knowledge; able to work independently in routine areas. Selects from alternatives; solves routine and emerging problems. Owns outcomes in a defined area. Maintain coating manufacturing equipment with logs/schedules/spare parts/etc to eliminate downtime

• Coordinate PM schedules with engineering and materials supervisor
• Assist in other areas of facilities as required with facilities supervisor
• Perform weekly preventive maintenance on vacuum depositionsystems following established schedules and intervals
• Replace coating components and other critical parts
• Disassemble reactor chambers and ensure the external rework and refurbishment process is properly managed and controlled
• Inspect and document equipment condition before and after maintenance
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, particularly when handling and installing coating precursors
• Follow best practices in vacuum technology and cleanroom procedures
• Assist in identifying, responding to, and resolving tool-related emergencies to minimize equipment downtime
• Collaborate closely with process engineers, operations, and EHS teams
• Contribute to continuous improvement of PM procedures and system reliability

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience as a maintenance technician preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Must have ability to use a variety of mechanical tools and use electronic test equipment.
• Must be organized and keep accurate records.
• Must have experience with handling hazardous materials and using proper safety protocols(ex: pyrophoric)
• Must communicate and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
• Will be expected to interface effectively with supervision and work in a team based environment.
• Must be comfortable using PC's and be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• May be required to lift moderately heavy instruments (up to 50 lbs) on a weekly basis and must have a reasonable level of manual dexterity.

Additional Information

For Longmont, the expected hourly wage for this position is between$27- $30hr.The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. In addition, INFICON employees are eligible for a profit-sharing bonus with a target of 10% as well as 401K match up to 8% (vesting schedule).
