Job summary

JLL is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support on-site building operations in East Syracuse, NY. The role emphasizes hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a range of facility systems with a focus on safety and reliability.

You will perform preventive maintenance, carpentry and metal work, and coordinate repairs with tenants and client representatives. The position requires physical capability and a valid driver’s license, with on-call and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 3 years in carpentry, sheet metal, and general building maintenance techniques.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility equipment including carpentry and mechanical systems with minimal disruption.
• Execute preventive maintenance schedules on base building and critical system equipment with thorough documentation.
• Conduct carpentry, sheet metal, and sheetrock work including patching, painting, and general building repairs for interior and exterior surfaces.
• Analyze system operations, diagnose malfunctions, and implement corrective actions while ensuring safety compliance.
• Coordinate with client representatives and work order requestors to schedule repairs within operational windows and minimize tenant impact.
• Respond to emergency calls and perform overtime as needed across multiple building locations.

What your day-to-day will look like

• Perform comprehensive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility equipment including carpentry and mechanical systems with minimal operational disruption
• Execute preventive maintenance schedules on all base building and critical system equipment, completing thorough documentation and reporting any equipment issues or supply shortages
• Conduct carpentry, sheet metal, and sheetrock work including patching, painting, and general building repairs for interior and exterior surfaces
• Analyze system operations, diagnose malfunctions, and implement corrective actions while ensuring compliance with safety protocols and building codes
• Coordinate with client representatives and work order requestors to schedule repairs within operational windows and minimize tenant impact
• Respond to emergency calls and perform overtime work as needed while maintaining coverage across multiple building locations

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education
• At least 3 years in carpentry, sheet metal work, and general building maintenance techniques
• Valid driver's license
• Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds, work at heights, operate power tools, and perform overhead work

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS systems
• Must be proficient in basic computer skills (spread sheets, reports)
• Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and environmental compliance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with customer service orientation
• Conflict resolution skills and ability to work effectively with diverse teams

Onsite - East Syracuse, NY

Work Shift

Monday to Friday 7:15am to 4pm + On-call availability + Overtime as needed

Salary/ Comp

$24.03$ - $26.92 + Overtime
