AllTek Staffing & Resource Group, Inc. is assisting a Verona-area manufacturing partner in recruiting an experienced maintenance technician.

The role supports both overnight (midnight–8am) and afternoon (4pm–midnight) shifts in a high-speed automated production environment. Ideal candidates will have 2+ years of combined mechanical and electrical maintenance experience, strong diagnostics, and the ability to pass aptitude tests.

Qualifications

• Must have mechanical and electrical maintenance experience in a production/manufacturing setting.
• Ability to diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs on automated equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical PLCs for upper level maintenance roles.

Responsibilities

• Install new equipment in production facility.
• Diagnose malfunctioning equipment including conveyors, bottling lines, filling machines, and palletizing systems.
• Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance; replace worn parts.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and routine inspections to prevent issues.
• Operate equipment to diagnose problems and determine repairs.

Job description

TOPS has partnered with a local manufacturing company who is looking for an experienced maintenance technician for both its overnight shift (midnight to 8am) and afternoon (4pm to midnight). We are currently looking for candidates with prior maintenance experience in a production/ manufacturing environment. Ideal candidates will have experience working as a maintenance technician in a high speed, automated production environment. Looking for candidates who have a combination of strong mechanical and electrical, diagnostic, trouble shooting, repair and preventative maintenance experience for these roles. This is union environment, hired candidate will join the maintenance union. This is a Direct hire situation meaning no contract period with TOPS, hire on directly by our client from your first day.

Job Details:

Hours/Shifts – few shifts currently available.

Afternoon shift: 4pm to midnight - Monday to Friday

Overnight – Midnight to 8am - Sunday night to Friday morning

Pay rates: Starting base pay is $25 per hour but based on the level of experience and aptitude test given during interview process. Position offers a chance to move up within the maintenance department rather quickly (as short as 6 months but varies per individual and prior experience) which would increase your pay to $32+hr this is based on your on the job performance and ability to pass required aptitude test.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Install any new equipment in production facility.
• Diagnose any malfunctioning or broke down equipment in facility, includes things like: conveyor systems, bottling machines, filling machines, plastic blow mold equipment, automated palletizing machines, box making/ folding equipment and much more.
• Electrical and Mechanical maintenance abilities are a must in this role.
• Dismantle and replace broken or worn parts in production facility equipment.
• Provide a wide range of building or facility maintenance when needed.
• Work unassisted and unsupervised to job completion in a timely and proficient manner.
• Electrical PLC knowledge needed for upper level “Class A” maintenance roles
• Operate equipment to diagnose problems and determine necessary repairs.
• Conduct routine inspections of production equipment to identify and address potential issues before they escalated.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent or AS degree
• 2+years of maintenance experience, must include doing both mechanical and electrical maintenance work in a production or manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods standing, bending, kneeling, crawling or climbing
• This is an overnight shift position; must be able to work scheduled overnight shift hours
• Must be able to lift up to 40lbs on a somewhat regular basis.
