Job summary

PREIT seeks a Maintenance Technician to support operations across shopping center properties. You will install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain building systems, perform preventative maintenance, and assist with safety programs.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, 2–3 years in maintenance, a valid Driver's License, and the ability to read plans. Some evenings/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 2–3 years in building maintenance or related field.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Ability to communicate clearly with management, tenants and external contacts.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, plans and schematic drawings.
• Self-starter able to work independently.
• 2-year tech school or trade certificate is a plus.
• OSHA 10-Hour is a plus.
• Bilingual welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various building systems.
• Operate equipment for preventative maintenance and minor repairs; keep property clean.
• Perform maintenance on interior/exterior areas including painting, drywall, plumbing, lighting, roof.
• Assist with inventory, MSDS, supplies, equipment and tools.
• Repair, modify, move retail merchandising units as needed.
• Assist in event setup and decor installation/takedown.
• Carry out custodial duties as needed: cleaning, trash, landscaping.
• Assist with snow removal by vehicle or hand.
• Promote and follow PREIT Safety, Health, and Environment Policy and OSHA guidelines.
• Engage in training to improve safety knowledge and skills.
• Assist with emergency planning with management team.
• Some shifts may include evenings, weekends, and emergency responses.
• Interact with public and tenants as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting the Operations Manager or Manager on Duty with the implementation of safety plans, operating standards and guidelines, troubleshooting, repairs, and performing preventative maintenance required to maintain the physical assets of the property.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various building systems.
• Operate a variety of equipment to perform preventative maintenance, minor repairs and maintain cleanliness of property.
• Perform a variety of maintenance/minor repair activities on the interior/exterior areas of the property including, but not limited to, painting, drywall, parking lots, sidewalks, plumbing repairs, clears drain stoppages, lighting, flooring, and roof.
• Assist with maintaining appropriate inventory systems, records, files, material safety data sheets, supplies, equipment, and tools.
• Repair, modify, move retail merchandising units as needed.
• Assist in the setup of events and install/take-down mall dcor.
• Perform interior/exterior custodial duties as needed which may include sweeping, vacuuming, steam cleaning, gathering trash, empty trash receptacles; operate compactor; and landscaping.
• Assist with snow removal by vehicle and/or by hand (if applicable)
• Embode and support PREITs Safety, Health, and Environment Policy. Perform the job in accordance with all applicable standards, policies, and regulatory guidelines (including OSHA standards) to promote a safe working environment.
• Engage in training and continuing education to develop the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to work safely.
• Assist with emergency planning and response in coordination with management team.
• Some shift work, evenings, weekends, and emergency response are required.
• Aid and interact with the public and tenants as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in building maintenance or a related field
• Valid Driver's License required
• Ability to communicate information clearly with management, employees, tenants, and external contacts
• Ability to read and interpret documents, plans and schematic drawings and comprehend instructions
• Self-starter with ability to work independently
• 2-year Tech School Graduate or trade certificate is a plus
• OSHA General Industries 10-Hour course is a plus
• Bilingual welcomed
