Job summary

O'Neal Manufacturing Services in the United States is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to repair and maintain plant machinery and electrical equipment. You will assist with installation of machines and diagnose system malfunctions, ensuring safe, reliable operation of production lines.

Qualifications

  • 4 years’ experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for repairs and diagnostics of advanced processing equipment and CNC systems.
  • Knowledge of CNC programming related to Windows and FANUC.
  • FANUC, CNC and TwinCAT control systems maintenance knowledge.
  • Willingness to learn AutoCAD and MasterCAM; Asset Essentials familiarity.
  • Proficient use of shop tools, forklifts, and lifting devices.
  • Ability to work from ladders/scaffolds to install/repair electrical wiring.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician II will repair and maintain the machinery and mechanical equipment in the plant. This includes equipment, machinery, fixtures, and power and hand tools. The Maintenance Technician II will assist in the installation of machines and troubleshoot or diagnose system malfunctions.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Commitment to workplace safety.
  • Repair and perform preventative maintenance on machinery/mechanical equipment in an industrial environment.
  • Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, machinery, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand, power, and precision measuring tools.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components, using test equipment and hand tools.
  • Responsible for the connection of wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Calculate, lay-out/draw, balance and align equipment.
  • Perform rigging activities, safety-related functions and other miscellaneous maintenance functions.
  • Utilize or fabricate all types of mechanical parts (fitting, valves, etc.) needed from cold rolled steel, stainless steel, steel plate, structural steel members and other metals.
  • Maintain electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes at the country, state and federal levels.
  • Plan and perform Preventative Maintenance thru completion including appropriate documentation.
  • Self-starter yet able to take orders as directed.
  • Maintain electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes at the country, state and federal levels.
  • Support the safety and quality programs by following all accompanying rules and established processes.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Four (4) years’ experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Basic trouble shooting skills with ability to assist with repairs and diagnostics of advanced processing equipment, Computer Numerical Controls (CNC), material handling system, press brakes, lifting devices, and sawing equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of CNC programming as it relates to both Windows and FANUC operating systems.
  • Functional knowledge of the maintenance and parameter functions of FANUC, CNC and TwinCAT control systems.
  • Experience or ability to learn AutoCAD and MasterCAM computer software. Asset Essentials software.
  • Demonstrate safe and proficient use of shop tools (both hand and power) and forklifts/high lifts.
  • Demonstrate mechanical knowledge.
  • Must be physically capable of performing work from ladders, scaffolds and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures.
  • Proficient in testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Competent in the use of oxyacetylene torch work and welding.
  • Laser alignment and vibration monitoring knowledge.
  • Ability to run existing programs and test programs on laser, plasma and drilling machines.
  • Competent with programming of Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).- Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controller (PLC).- Speak, write and comprehend conversational English.- High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
