IRCA seeks a Maintenance Mechanic in Union City, CA. You will assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems, troubleshoot, and perform preventative maintenance on diverse equipment.

Qualifications

• Industrial maintenance experience
• 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or similar role; food manufacturing preferred
• HS diploma or GED
• Operate hand and power tools
• Mechanical aptitude
• Strong computer skills
• Able to perform physical tasks and dexterity
• Troubleshoot to identify and propose solutions
• Read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
• Troubleshoot machinery and perform routine preventative maintenance.
• Read, interpret, and follow instructions and operation manuals.
• Has electrical competency for troubleshooting and is familiar with electrical principles and components.
• Use an electrical meter for testing purposes.
• Maintain a schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery.
• Knowledgeable in piping systems, pipe fittings, pumps and motors, valves, etc.
• Understand gearboxes, motors, bearings, sprockets, chains, bushings, belts, and pulleys.
• Clean, repair, and install equipment and parts as needed.
• Operate sit-down forklift and/or articulating boom lift.
• Use hand and power tools.
• Experience with Mill, Lathe, Band Saw, welding or willingness to learn.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Comply with health and safety regulations.
• Perform general maintenance on buildings assigned.
• Maintain strong computer skills and CMMS usage.
• Maintain good relationships with plant departments.
• Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion.

The company's core product offerings consist of chocolate, chocolate decorations, creams, pastry mixes, gelato ingredients, and various other bakery and pastry ingredients.

Headquartered in Italy, IRCA was acquired by Advent International, a global private equity firm, in July 2022. The company has demonstrated a strong history of growth over the past decade. As part of its growth strategy, IRCA made two bolt-on acquisitions in 2022. They acquired Cesarin, a provider of candied fruits, and Anastasi, a supplier of pistachio ingredients. More recently, IRCA acquired the leading manufacturer of sweet and cereal products in Europe and the US. This expanded manufacturing footprint and diversified product portfolio positions IRCA as a key player in the market, serving a wide range of customers in the bakery, pastry, and gelato sectors, as well as food manufacturers.

Responsibilities

• Assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
• Troubleshooting machinery and performing routine preventative maintenance.
• Reading, interpreting, and following instructions and operation manuals.
• Has electrical competency for troubleshooting purposes and is familiar with electrical principles and components
• Can use an electrical meter for testing purposes
• Maintaining a schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery.
• Knowledgeable in piping systems, pipe fittings, pumps and motors, valves etc.
• Comprehension of gearboxes, motors, bearings, sprockets, chains, bushings, belts, and pulleys.
• Cleaning, repairing, and installing equipment and parts as needed.
• Can operate sit-down forklift and/or articulating boom lift.
• Operating a variety of hand and power tools.
• Experience with Mill, Lathe, Band Saw, welding or a willingness to learn.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Complying with health and safety regulations.
• Performing general maintenance work on buildings assigned.
• Has strong computer skills. Send and receive emails, operate CMMS programs.
• Maintains a strong working relationship with all plant departments.
• Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion.

Qualifications

• Industrial maintenance experience.
• 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or in a similar role. Preferred work experience in a food manufacturing environment. Welding and/or fabrication experience preferred.
• HS diploma or GED.
• Demonstrate knowledge and ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and ability.
• Demonstrate Strong computer skills.
• Able to perform physical task and demonstrate physical dexterity.
• Ability to troubleshoot to identify and recommend solutions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. and /or push, pull or move heavy machinery and/or drums.
• Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift

$35 - $40 an hour
