Job summary

IRCA Group is seeking an Electrician to ensure safe, reliable operation of electrical systems in a food manufacturing facility. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot PLCs, install wiring, and support production lines.

This role requires industrial experience, refrigeration familiarity, and strong communication across departments. On-call work after hours and adherence to HACCP procedures are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Electrical and mechanical ability as defined.
• HS diploma or GED.
• Industrial experience in an industrial environment.
• Technical school training or related experience.
• Refrigeration and/or ammonia refrigeration experience or training.
• Appropriate English language ability to read/interpret safety rules and manuals.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Ability to apply written instructions in practice.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance tasks and documents results.
• Troubleshoots and maintains PLCs and variable speed drive equipment.
• Troubleshoots process controls, instrumentation, and calibration.
• Installs, bends, and runs conduit and wiring; handles EMT.
• Reads wiring diagrams and verifies correctness.
• Plans projects, upgrades, and new installations.
• Performs mechanical work like valve, bearing, motor, and gearbox replacement.
• Repairs controllers including hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Assists facility, line, machine mechanics and operators.
• Documents findings for root cause analysis and HACCP compliance.
• Communicates across departments to schedule work and maintains clean areas.
• On-call after hours as needed.

Job Purpose

We are looking for an Electrician that will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical systems within our food manufacturing facility.

Job Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance tasks, including completion of all related documentation.
• Turbleshoots & maintains PLCs and variable speed drive controlled equipment.
• Turbleshoots equipment process controls, instrumentation, & calibration.
• Installs, bends, and runs conduit and wiring, rigid aluminum and emt.
• Comprehends and verifies wiring diagrams.
• Project planning, equipment upgrades, modification, and new installation.
• Performs mechanical work, valve replacement, bearing replacement, and motor & gearbox replacement.
• Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs controllers including hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Provides assistance to facility, line, machine, mechanics, and operators.
• Provides essential documentation and completes research for root cause analysis when needed.
• Affirms maintenance role in the HACCP procedure along with all other departments.
• Able to assess and function effectively in an ever-changing environment.
• On call or able to reply to calls after hours.
• Be able to communicate between multiple departments in scheduling work.
• Maintain a clean work area.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience:
• Electrical and mechanical ability as defined.
• HS diploma or GED.
• Demonstrated work experience in an industrial environment.
• Technical school training in the form of certified courses, technical degree or related experience.
• Facility and facility support equipment training or experience.
• Refrigeration and/or ammonia refrigeration experience or training.
• Appropriate English language ability in order to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
