Job summary

Oldcastle APG, a CRH Company, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to oversee preventative maintenance and repair of production equipment and tools. The role supports plant personnel and may involve assisting a mobile mechanic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/equivalent or better required.
• Technical or vocational training or certification preferred.
• Able to read and follow instructions/manuals step by step.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, belting, mechanics, electricity, carpentry or related field preferred.
• Able to work in teams or independently.
• Understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

Responsibilities

• Install, adjust, and repair production equipment and special machines.
• Use hand and power tools to repair, grease, and replace parts.
• Welding, torching, and light machining as needed.
• Perform general repairs and preventive maintenance on plant structures.
• Keep the work area clean and orderly.
• Test and troubleshoot machinery; determine and complete repairs safely and promptly.
• Install and test electrical components; ensure proper operation.
• Dismantle equipment to access faulty parts with appropriate tools.
• Replace and install parts as needed; lubricate and clean equipment.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Job Summary

This role is mainly responsible for the overall preventative maintenance and repair of equipment, tools, and machinery as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor. Other responsibilities may include assisting the mobile mechanic or plant personnel.

Job Responsibilities

• Install, adjust, and repair production equipment, and special purpose machines as assigned
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, change parts, and complete tasks as assigned
• Welding, torching, and light machining as required
• Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance to plant structures
• Keep the work area in a clean and orderly condition
• Test and troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery, determine repairs, and follow through with these repairs to assure proper operation of equipment in a safe, timely manner
• Install equipment and/or electrical components and test to ensure proper functioning
• Dismantle equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools
• Replace and install parts as needed
• Lubricate and clean parts and equipment to ensure proper operation
• Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

Job Requirements

• High school diploma/equivalent, or comparable in training, education, or experience
• Technical or vocational school certification or equivalent in training or experience
• Ability to read and interpret instructions and operations manuals and follow step by step instructions
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, belting, mechanics, electricity, carpentry, or related field preferred
• Be able to work with a team or independently
• Full understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance programs
