JOB OVERVIEW:The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for the general maintenance and orderliness of company properties. It also entails oversight of the maintenance systems to ensure optimal operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the completion of work orders for tasks related to the physical maintenance and repairs of company buildings and properties.
- Responds to emergency situations regarding building, property, and equipment issues.
- Implements routine physical improvements.
- Maintains all equipment, tools, supplies in stock, inventories, and logs.
- Communicates effectively regarding building status and changes.
- Utilizes materials, supplies, tools, and other building property in a safe, productive manner.
- Adheres to all safety standards, policies and procedures, codes of conduct, and best practices.
- Assists with controlling expenses associated with the maintenance and operation of buildings.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs, and other drainage problems.
- Electrical wiring capabilities to manage problems with the building's electricity.
- Ability to handle basic repairs as it relates to carpentry.
- Ability to interact with employees in a pleasant manner.
- Attention to detail to ensure all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked.
- Possess a working knowledge of tools and their proper use.
- Ability to take direction and follow instructions.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
- Physical stamina to handle a full shift of being active and working on building(s).
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least two (2) years of related work experience and/or technical training.
- Must have a valid, unrestricted driver's license.
- Willingness to be available for emergencies while on-call.
- EPA 608 certification.
- HVAC – R experience.
- General plumbing experience.
- General Electric experience.
- Hot line and cool line experience.
- Painting experience.
- Dry wall experience.
- Flooring experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Work around hot equipment, oil, extreme cold (walk-in freezer), loud noises for the duration of shift.
- Must be able to move freely throughout the restaurant frequently to include enclosed and compact spaces.
- Must be able to remain standing for the duration, excluding breaks.
- Perform physical activities that require considerable use of hands, wrists, fingers, arms, legs, and bending at the waist (climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials).
- Capable of extensive walking, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting/carrying a minimum of 50 pounds by applying proper body mechanics.
- Use of cognitive skills including, but not limited to, learning, remembering, focusing, categorizing, and integrating information for decision making, problem-solving, and comprehending for the duration of shift.
