Position Summary

This is a skilled, semi-skilled position involving various trades. The employee performs tasks related to the repair and maintenance of machinery, equipment, and buildings. Work is performed independently with instructions provided orally or in writing, and is reviewed through inspections and discussions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Install electrical conduit, wiring, switches, controls, outlets, fixtures, motors, and related equipment.
  2. Perform preventative maintenance, including testing and evaluating equipment performance with instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gauges.
  3. Test and calibrate pneumatic HVAC controls.
  4. Install, repair, and maintain commercial refrigeration equipment, conducting daily inspections and scheduling major repairs.
  5. Perform skilled maintenance including construction, welding, brazing, soldering, and plumbing.
  6. Check and repair pumps, fans, valves, and motors (pneumatic, electric, fuel-injected).
  7. Adjust, repair, and replace electrical and electronic pneumatic relays.
  8. Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures for heating, water, air, and sewer systems, including unclogging drains.
  9. Maintain and repair lift trucks and pallet jacks.
  10. Maintain tools and machinery, organize tool and parts storage rooms.
  11. Keep accurate records of preventive maintenance activities.
  12. Check CCTV systems daily for proper operation and resolve issues.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned and file daily work orders.
  14. Conduct weekly, monthly, and annual inspections of emergency eye-wash stations and showers per OP512.
Qualifications
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and diagrams; write reports; and communicate effectively.
  • Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and interpretation of graphs.
  • Ability to follow instructions and solve problems involving multiple variables.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school diploma preferred.
  • Two years' experience in building and plant maintenance involving electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and building trades preferred.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions; EPA certification preferred.
