Job summary

ERCO Worldwide is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Port Edwards plant. The role performs safe daily maintenance and repairs on complex mechanical systems, pipes, and equipment across the site, with an emphasis on preventative maintenance.

The ideal candidate has a journeyman apprenticeship or equivalent experience, 3–5 years preferred, with a path for apprentices. Competitive benefits and a strong safety culture are offered.

Qualifications

• Journeyman card or completion of an accredited apprenticeship program.
• High School Diploma required; vocational training is an asset.
• Background in heavy industry or chemical process is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance rounds and inspections.
• Troubleshoot and isolate complex mechanical problems; implement corrective actions.
• Conduct rebuilds of rotating assemblies.
• Remove failed equipment and reinstall new or rebuilt units.
• Fabricate, weld, and lathe as needed.
• Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings per specifications.
• Order and control repair materials.
• Manage Work Orders in CMMS to support PM compliance.
• Update maintenance files, drawings, and documentation.

Hours: Monday-Friday (6am-2pm: Flexible Hours)

Salary: $43.27 an hour ($90,001.40 annually) to $48.87 an hour ($101,648.64 annually) +overtime.

Join The Team:

ERCO Worldwide is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance team! The Maintenance Technician provides safe day to day maintenance and repairs of complex mechanical systems, pipefitting, and preventative maintenance support across the entire plant site for a variety of equipment. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, pumps, centrifuges, tanks, piping, compressors, fans, heat exchangers, structural elements, pressure relief devices, etc. Repairs, rebuilds, installation and modification may be required on such equipment on any given day.

The Role:

• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance rounds (inspections, vibration measurements, infra-red thermography, etc.)
• Troubleshoots and isolates highly complex mechanical problems; implements corrective actions, as appropriate.
• Conduct rebuilds of rotating assemblies
• Removal of failed/failing equipment and re-installation of new/rebuilt units, piping repairs
• Fabricate, weld, and lathe as needed
• Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications which may include welding, cementing, soldering, and threading.
• Ordering and Controlling of Repair Materials
• Manage relevant Work Orders in the CMMS in support of PM compliance (timely completion / closure, etc.)
• Update maintenance files, drawings, and documentation.

The Person:

Journeyperson Candidates (Or Candidate with relative experience):

• A validjourneyman card, indicating successful completion of an accredited apprenticeship program
• Journeyman Millwright/Associate or Pipefitter/Associate level Industrial Mechanic
• 3-5 years experience is preferred.
• Non-Journeyman maintenance mechanic with 10+ years experience preferred.

Apprentice Candidates:

• Registered apprentice in the Industrial Mechanic (Millwright or Pipefitter) trade or a related maintenance trade.
• High School Diploma required.
• Completion of, or enrollment in a vocational, technical or trade program is considered an asset.
• Must maintain satisfactory attendance and progress within the applicable apprenticeship and technical training program.

All Candidates:

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Superior troubleshooting skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• A background in heavy industry or the chemical process industry is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with ANSI/ASME and/or boiler codes is an asset.
• Demonstrates ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), equipment assembly drawings, technical manuals, blueprints and schematics.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills to work in a self-directed work group
• Demonstrated reliability and a strong work ethic.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
