Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries is seeking a qualified 2nd shift Maintenance Technician in Medford, Wisconsin. The role includes running, maintaining, and repairing plant machinery, troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, and fabricating components as needed.

Candidates should have 2 years of related work history or equivalent education, welding and tool skills, and experience with motors, conveyors, and forklifts.

Qualifications

  • 2 years’ recent verifiable related work history or equivalent education.
  • Proficient in welding, cutting, and using hand tools for repairs.
  • Experience using motor control circuits, 480 volt 3-phase AC/DC motors, starters, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatics, pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and bearings.
  • Proven experience using forklift, man lift, and most rigging equipment.
  • Ability to recognize, report, and repair mechanical defects.
  • Industrial mill maintenance experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Run, maintain, and repair all mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility.
  • Troubleshoot, install, replace, and repair machines and equipment including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Dismantle machinery and equipment, locate cause of malfunction, replace parts or fabricate replacements.
  • Fabricate machine components for repairs and improvements of mechanical devices.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests to ensure optimum system functionality.
  • Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems and equipment for efficient operation.
  • Operate arc welder, cutting torch, hand tools, and forklift.
  • Fabricate, weld, mill, and lathe as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and observe safety protocols.

Currently, our Windows division in Medford, Wisconsin, a growing, major window and door manufacturer with manufacturing facilities located in Alabama, California, and Wisconsin, is seeking a qualified 2nd shift Maintenance Technician.

About The Position
  • Run, maintain, and repair all mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility
  • Troubleshoot, install, replace, and repair machines and equipment including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Dismantle machinery and equipment, locate cause of malfunctioning or mechanical breakdown, replace parts from sock or fabricate replacement parts as needed
  • Fabricate machine components for repairs and improvements of mechanical devices
  • Effectively conduct and assess diagnostic tests to ensure optimum system functionality
  • Assemble, install, and proactively maintain mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment for efficient operation
  • Operate arc welder, cutting torch, hand tools, and forklift
  • Fabricate, weld, mill, and lathe as needed
  • Perform general maintenance in a safe and efficient manner and maintain a clean work area
  • Work may consist of various shifts and overtime including weekends and holidays during busy production times
