Job summary

The W Group in New York is seeking a compassionate Maintenance Technician to keep our assisted living community safe and comfortable for residents. This on-site role follows a daytime schedule and involves hands-on repairs and prompt response to requests.

Ideal candidates have prior maintenance or janitorial experience, strong repair skills, and a positive, people-friendly attitude. Experience in assisted living is a plus, and we offer competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Basic construction and repair skills.
• Ability to interact with residents with respect and dignity.
• Comfortable with a fast-moving day.

Responsibilities

• Handle repairs across plumbing, electrical, lighting, sheetrock, flooring, and painting.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and staff.
• Prepare apartment homes for new residents (cleaning, minor repairs, turnover).
• Tour the facility and grounds regularly to catch safety issues.
• Maintain storage and organization of maintenance supplies.
• Report unusual conditions or equipment malfunctions immediately.
• Assist with setting up community activities and events when needed.

The W Assisted Living Communities is looking for a compassionate, energetic Maintenance Technician to keep our community safe, comfortable, and running smoothly for our residents.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Handle a variety of repairs — plumbing, electrical, lighting, sheetrock, flooring, and painting
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and staff
• Prepare apartment homes for new residents (cleaning, minor repairs, turnover)

• Maintain proper storage and organization of maintenance supplies and equipment
• Report any unusual conditions or equipment malfunctions right away
• Pitch in to help set up community activities and events when needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior maintenance, housekeeping, or janitorial experience
• Basic construction and repair skills
• A positive attitude and genuine enjoyment of working with people
• Comfortable with a variety of tasks and a fast-moving day
• Prior experience in an Assisted Living Facility is a big plus, but not required
• Ability to interact with residents with respect and dignity
