Job summary

Refresco in Tampa, FL seeks a maintenance technician to support fast-paced beverage production, ensuring equipment runs reliably and safely.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot machinery, and coordinate with production teams to minimize downtime while upholding GMP and food safety standards. The role requires a high school diploma and 2 years of maintenance experience, with shift variability.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all GMPs, health, safety policies and PPE requirements in warehouse/production areas.
• Perform repair maintenance, preventive maintenance and line changeovers.
• Troubleshoot machinery (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic).
• Maintain production-support equipment and systems (glycol, RO, compressed air, lubrication).
• Document work orders and part numbers for inventory and traceability.
• Collaborate with production and other teams to resolve issues quickly and improve uptime.

Shift:

Pay Range:

$30 - $40 per hour depending on experience

Essential Job Functions:

• Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas (including but not limited to hairnets/beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard toe and slip/oil resistant shoes, appropriate safety gloves, and seatbelts while operating forklifts).
• Responsible to adhere to food quality and food safety as per the standard(s) provided by corporate, customer, and/or governing bodies (ex. SQF).
• Report problems with the FSMS to responsible managerial employees to initiate corrective actions.
• Ability to perform and complete repair maintenance, preventive maintenance, and line changeovers.
• Able to troubleshoot machinery for malfunctions (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, &pneumatic).
• Able to perform maintenance on all production supporting equipment (i.e. glycol system, RO system, Compressed Air system, lubrication systems, chemical distribution systems).
• Use innovative thinking when troubleshooting equipment in order to minimize production downtime, assure food safety, product quality and personnel safety.
• Complete, document, and retrieve final approvals on all assigned work orders to include recording all utilized part numbers for inventory purposes.
• Communicate effectively and completely all relevant maintenance and production related information from shift to relieving shift.
• Assist in training other maintenance personnel.
• Communicate with production during periods of downtime.
• Work collaboratively with all adjacent teams to resolve issues rapidly and drive improvement.

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of GMPs.
• Understanding of Food Safety Requirements.
• Must be able to read, understand, and work with machinery blueprints and parts manuals.

• Must obtain and maintain forklift certification.

Education and Experience:

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years previous maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred.

Working Conditions:

• Work Schedule: Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evening, and overnight may be required. Overtime scheduled as needed.
• Work Environment: Operating in a fast-paced production plant with numerous moving parts. Noise levels require hearing protection and temperatures can get very hot and/or relatively cold). The environment is structured and supervised.

Travel Requirements:

• May be minimal travel required as needed for training.

Physical Requirements:

• Visual/Sensory: This position requires attention to detail, requiring attention with one or two senses at a time.
• Coordination and Dexterity: Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precise control of equipment.
• Mental Stress: There is pronounced pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy, or similar demands.
