Job summary

Yugo is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure safety and upkeep of our on-site community. You will handle resident work orders, perform repairs across plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and appliances, and coordinate with residents and management to uphold property standards.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll inspect buildings and common areas, maintain pools and equipment, assist with turn-ins, stay compliant with OSHA, and support additional property improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of maintenance experience including HVAC, plumbing and electrical.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• EPA Type I Certification preferred.
• Pool maintenance certification preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build relationships.
• Proficient with technology and online systems.
• Carbon Literacy Certification or willingness to undertake training.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident work orders efficiently and professionally, ensuring timely, high-quality repairs and maintenance services.
• Respond promptly to resident maintenance requests, concerns, and emergencies while providing excellent customer service and follow-up communication.
• Perform general maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, painting, appliance repair, carpentry, and other property tasks.
• Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds, equipment, and common areas to identify and resolve maintenance or safety concerns.
• Maintain appearance, cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the property and community spaces.
• Prepare vacant units for new residents by completing inspections, repairs, and turn activities per company standards.
• Maintain pools, spas, and related equipment while ensuring compliance with local certification and safety requirements.
• Participate in on-call and after-hours emergency maintenance as scheduled.
• Maintain inventory levels for tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies; keep storage areas organized and secure.
• Follow OSHA guidelines, company safety standards, and preventative maintenance procedures; engage in safety trainings.
• Communicate with maintenance leadership and property management regarding work orders and operational needs.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure quality work and compliance with company standards.
• Maintain professional appearance and positive relationships with residents, team members, and vendors.
• Assist with additional maintenance, operational, and property improvement projects as needed to support community operations.
• May occasionally work near mechanical equipment, at elevated heights, or around fumes and chemicals; lift 50 pounds or more; work in varying weather.
• Assist with additional maintenance and property improvement projects as needed to support community goals.

As the Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and upkeep of the entire property. Acting as a key liaison between residents and management, you will provide exceptional service and maintain the community's value by conducting thorough assessments and performing necessary repairs. Your role is essential in delivering a high-quality living experience for residents while upholding the standards of the property.

Reporting into the Maintenance Supervisor, here’s what you’ll be doing!

• Complete resident work orders efficiently and professionally, ensuring timely, high-quality repairs and maintenance services.

• Maintain pools, spas, and related equipment at applicable properties while ensuring compliance with local certification and safety requirements.
• Participate in on-call and after-hours emergency maintenance response as scheduled.
• Maintain inventory levels for tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies while ensuring storage areas remain organized and secure.
• Follow OSHA guidelines, company safety standards, and preventative maintenance procedures while participating in ongoing safety training and meetings.
• Communicate regularly with maintenance leadership and property management regarding work orders, property conditions, and operational needs.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors as directed to ensure quality work and compliance with company standards.
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive working relationships with residents, team members, and vendors.
• Assist with additional maintenance, operational, and property improvement projects as needed to support community operations.
• May occasionally work near mechanical equipment, at elevated heights, or around fumes and chemicals, and must be able to lift and move items weighing 50 pounds or more while working in varying weather conditions and moderate noise levels.
• Assist with additional maintenance, operational, and property improvement projects as needed to support community goals.
