Job summary

Midwest Plastic Engineering, Inc. in Sturgis, MI seeks a Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair injection molding machines and supporting equipment in the Maintenance Department.

The role emphasizes reading schematics and electrical knowledge, with injection molding experience preferred, on a 1st shift (7:30am-4pm) schedule. Ideal candidates bring understanding of hydraulic/electrical systems, good communication, and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read schematics preferred.
• Capable of wiring electrical circuits preferred.
• Understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems preferred.
• Experience in injection molding preferred.
• Good communication skills and able to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist maintaining and repairing injection molding machines ranging from 75T to 850T.
• Assist maintaining all supporting equipment: conveyors, grinders, pneumatic systems, water heaters, etc.
• Ability to read, understand and work from schematics.
• Conduct preventative maintenance duties per documented schedules.
• Document all repairs and preventative maintenance activities to comply with ISO requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Cross train in mold setting.
• All other duties as assigned.

Schedule

• 1st shift - 7:30am - 4pm
• 30 minute unpaid lunch break

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

Compensation

• $20 to $30 per hour starting pay, dependent on qualifications & experience
