Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for our Streetsboro, Ohio facility. This role supports manufacturing operations with hands-on electrical, mechanical, automation, and safety work.

You will diagnose problems, troubleshoot controls, and perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability on the plant floor.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment or equivalent experience in installation, setup and service of computer-controlled equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting knowledge in PLC and computer-controlled equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automated manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot PC/PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, drives, and other industrial control systems.
• Use electrical schematics and documentation to identify root causes and restore equipment to operation.
• Respond to equipment issues and downtime with urgency to minimize disruptions and maintain productivity.
• Take ownership from diagnosis through repair, follow-up, and prevention of future failures.

Job Description

SoftLite Windows & Doors is seeking a skilled, hands-on Maintenance Technician to support manufacturing operations at our Streetsboro, Ohio facility.

This is more than a repair role. As a Maintenance Technician, you will have a direct and visible impact on plant productivity. Your ability to troubleshoot equipment, complete repairs, and build effective preventive maintenance practices helps keep production moving, minimizes downtime, and improves the reliability of the equipment our teams depend on every day.

What You’ll Do

Own Equipment Reliability and Troubleshooting

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automated manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot PC/PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, drives, and other industrial control systems.
• Use electrical schematics, technical documentation, and hands-on diagnostic skills to identify root causes and restore equipment to operation.
• Respond to equipment issues and production downtime with a sense of urgency, helping minimize disruptions and maintain plant productivity.
• Take ownership of problems from initial diagnosis through repair, follow-up, and prevention of future failures.

Drive Preventive and Proactive Maintenance

• Perform preventive maintenance on critical production equipment, including welders, cutting systems, conveyors, and automated assembly equipment.
• Identify early signs of wear, deterioration, and potential equipment failure before they become larger production issues.
• Help develop, improve, and execute preventive maintenance procedures and schedules.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to continuous improvement efforts that strengthen equipment reliability and uptime.
• Look beyond the immediate repair to identify opportunities to prevent recurring problems.

• Work closely with production, engineering, and plant leadership to resolve equipment challenges and improve operational performance.
