Job summary

Performance Seats, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance in the Spartanburg plant, including housekeeping and routine repairs.

The role requires hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, PLC and robotics familiarity, and adherence to OSHA safety standards. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, equipment installation, and participation in Health, Safety and Environmental programs to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in an industrial environment.
  • High school education; related apprenticeship or technical training is a plus.
  • Experience with electrical maintenance including low voltage control wiring, 3-phase wiring and troubleshooting 480V AC/DC motors and drives; conduit runs to code.
  • Experience with 480V power distribution systems including busway, disconnects, bus plugs, and power transformers is a plus.
  • Mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting experience (e.g., aligning motors, couplings, gearboxes).
  • PLC Programming and troubleshooting experience.
  • Robotic experience operating, programming, troubleshooting is a plus.
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic system maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with industrial air compressors, chillers, and HVAC is a plus.
  • Industrial lighting systems a plus.

  • Support PLC, robotics, hydraulics and pneumatics maintenance tasks.

Summary

Maintenance technicians will perform general maintenance functions within the manufacturing plant. This includes housekeeping, handling basic repairs, and other general maintenance duties.

  • Performs maintenance work on plant equipment as assigned.
  • Installation of equipment in compliance with OSHA regulations
  • Possess other general maintenance skills.
  • Maintain work areas to housekeeping standards
  • Performs other assignments as required by Maintenance Supervision or equivalent
  • Participates in the Health, Safety and Environmental program by following all policies, procedures and work instructions that may include safety rules, safety audits, regulatory compliance, environmental awareness and audits, and continuous improvement.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Follow all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements that are defined on work instructions or communicated in training.
  • Follow required emergency prevention and operational controls.
  • Report all accidents, occupational illnesses, and emergencies.

Education And/or Experience
  • Minimum maintenance work experience 3 years, post apprenticeship, in an industrial environment.
  • High school education; related experience, apprenticeship or technical training, education, or some combination of all three considered a plus.
  • Must be experienced with electrical maintenance including low voltage control wiring, 3 phase wiring and troubleshooting 480v, AC & DC motors and Drives. Capable of installing professional looking conduit runs to code.
  • Experience with plant 480v power distribution systems including busway, disconnects, Bus plugs, and power transformers is a plus.
  • Must have experience with mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting (example: Line-up motors, couplings, gearboxes).
  • PLC Programming and troubleshooting experience.
  • Robotic experience – operating, programming, troubleshooting is a plus
  • Hydraulic system function, maintenance and troubleshooting to include valves, accumulators, cylinders and pressure switches is a plus.
  • Pneumatic system function, maintenance and troubleshooting to include valves, accumulators, cylinders, and pressure switches.
  • Experience with industrial air compressors, chillers, and HVAC a plus.
  • Industrial lighting systems a plus.

  • Have the ability to properly communicate any issues regarding maintenance via in-person or computer.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Possibly obtain a forklift, overhead crane, and scissor lift license.
  • OSHA training in power press safety – electrical codes, NEC and NFPA 70
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear along with frequent use of hands and fingers to reach, pull and grasp, frequent grasping and stooping throughout the day.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate a computer, operate machinery, and inspect products produced.
