Job summary

CNC Cabinetry in New Jersey is seeking an experienced and dependable Machine Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair woodworking equipment. The role requires strong diagnostic and computer skills and familiarity with OSHA safety regulations, including LOTO.

You will perform preventive maintenance, inspect equipment, read technical manuals and schematics, document repairs using maintenance software, and install/calibrate machinery. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience maintaining woodworking equipment and industrial machinery.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including maintenance tracking systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Job description

CNC Cabinetry is seeking an experienced and dependable Machine Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair woodworking equipment and machinery. The ideal candidate will possess strong diagnostic and computer skills, have experience working with industrial woodworking equipment, and be knowledgeable of OSHA safety regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Bilingual candidates (English and Spanish) are preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair woodworking machinery and prodction equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all machines and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Inspect equipment regularly to identify mechanical, electrical, and operational issues.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment documentation.
  • Utilize computer systems and maintenance software to document repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Install, test, and calibrate machinery as needed.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Follow and enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance and repair activities.
  • Work closely with production and management teams to improve equipment performance.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience maintaining and repairing woodworking equipment and industrial machinery.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including maintenance tracking systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of woodworking machinery, including saws, edge banders, machines, and other production equipment.
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA safety standards and Lockout/Tagout requirements.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with PLC controls and automated machinery.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
