Job summary

Wieland Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician I for the South Gate, CA site. The role focuses on maintaining production equipment, the building, and support systems to meet production goals. You will diagnose failures in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems and perform repairs and preventative maintenance.

Qualifications

• Safety-focused maintenance background in manufacturing.
• Experience troubleshooting PLC, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Familiar with maintenance management systems; MAXIMO a plus.

Responsibilities

Wieland is hiring a Maintenance Technician I. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining the production equipment, the building, and support equipment in the manufacturing operation so they are available to achieve the production goals and objectives. Determine causes of breakdown or failure in electrical or mechanical equipment. Repairs, adjusts, modifies, and services all equipment. Works as directed with project manager. Works in any area on-site as directed while adhering tyo proper safety protocol. This role is located in South Gate, CA and will be fully on-site.

Starting Pay: $25.00 - $32.00/hour

Schedule: 4 AM - 4 PM

Pay Schedule: Weekly

Responsibilities

• Work safely and promote the safety of those working around you; help build a proactive safety culture
• Identify and correct potential safety hazards in order to prevent injuries
• Make the equipment available to the production workforce by
  • Determining the cause of equipment breakdown or failure and make necessary repairs
  • Analyzing drawings, manuals, wiring diagrams, etc. as required to install, repair, calibrate or otherwise service all types of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic devises and systems
  • Applying preventative methods and routine maintenance to reduce unplanned equipment downtime
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions
• Support management of spare parts inventories
• Keep the building and support equipment in working order by performing repairs and modifications
• Support maintenance scheduling and planning including Preventative Maintenance efforts
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• A demonstrated safety orientation
• 5 years manufacturing related maintenance experience
• Experience troublshooting PLC, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic machine system
• Self-starter with a proactive mindset able to prioritize work based on the schedules, goals and objectives of the organization
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Experience using a maintenance management system, MAXIMO experience a plus; proficient computer skills
• High School graduate, technical cerification in PLC programing, hydraulics & electronics repair is highly desirable
