Job summary

Wieland North America, Inc. is hiring a 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician in Wheeling, IL. The role focuses on troubleshooting industrial electromechanical systems and performing preventive maintenance to keep production equipment running.

The candidate will read electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams, use tools and measurement devices, and ensure safety compliance while coordinating with shift supervision. This is a full-time, on-site position with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

  • Three years of experience working in industrial facilities.
  • Experience maintaining or repairing industrial automated manufacturing equipment (cylinder rebuilds, bearing replacement, gearbox disassembly, etc.).
  • Able to read electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams and drawings.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting AC and DC voltage; single and three-phase electrical systems.
  • Functional knowledge of SCADA, VFD, servo motors, drives, and PLCs.
  • Functional knowledge of electromechanical systems using tools like digital multimeters, thermographers, vibration analyzers, and ultrasonic detectors.
  • Good computer and data entry skills; good verbal and written communication.
  • Able to multitask multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with machine operators to understand and determine the cause of machine issues.
  • Complete preventive maintenance to ensure operation of machinery and other production equipment.
  • Proficient in use of hand and power tools; supply own toolbox.
  • Diagnose defective mechanical parts and disassemble components for repair.
  • Fabricate/repair machine parts using mills, lathes, drill presses, and welders.
  • Observe OSHA and NFPA regulations; wear PPE.
  • Coordinate with departments, supervisor, and manager.

Wieland is hiring a 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for independently and collaboratively troubleshoot industrialelectromechanical systems and machinery, operating within the maintenance department.This role is located in Wheeling, ILand will be fully on-site.

Hourly Pay Range: $32.00-$43.00/hour
Work Schedule: 2nd Shift: 3:00 pm-11:00 pm Monday - Friday
Pay Schedule: Bi-weekly

Responsibilities
Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
  • Interface with machine operators to understand and determine the cause of machine issues
  • Ensure operation of machinery and other production equipment by completing preventive maintenance
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools. Must be able to supply own stocked toolbox
  • Able to diagnose defective mechanical parts and disassemble the components for repair using hoists, forklifts, and other equipment
  • Fabricate and/or repair machine parts using equipment such as measuring devices, mills, lathes, drill presses, and welders
  • Observe all OSHA and NFPA regulations and wear proper Personal Protective Equipment
  • Coordinate with all departments, supervisor, and department manager
Maintenance Technician Qualifications:
  • Highschool diploma preferred
  • Degree in Mechatronics or Automation is preferred

  • Functional knowledge of and experience troubleshooting electromechanical systems using tools such as digital multimeters, digital thermographers, vibration analyzers, ultrasonic leak detectors, etc.
  • Good computer and data entry skills. Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to multitask multiple projects simultaneously
Physical Demands:
  • Periods of standing, walking, negotiating stairs, ladders, elevated catwalks and platforms.
  • Walking over uneven and/or slippery surfaces.
  • Exposure to production environments that are not temperature controlled.
  • Occasionally lift to fifty pounds.
