Job description

Directs and coordinates activities of the facility to drive operational efficiency and uptime, compliance with all company, local, state, federal, third-party requirements, update and maintain PM schedule of all equipment on site and support all new capital projects as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Trouble shoot and repair mechanical, plumbing, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical systems. PLCs
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work indendently.
  • Completes repairs and activities as directed.
  • Performs pipefitting layout and installation including repairs to existing equipment.
  • Makes electrical installation, repair, and troubleshooting of motors, instrumentation, and/or controls.
  • Performs rigging work including installation of new equipment and relocation of existing equipment.
  • Completes carpentry and masonry tasks as required.
  • Maintains compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), plant and departmental procedures and guidelines.
  • Maintains level of housekeeping/sanitation which meets Company's standards and guidelines.
  • Set- up, adjust and maintain equipment with responsibility for production and quality on equipment.
  • Analyze mechanical and operational problems on equipment.
  • Experience with production schedules and when equipment is not scheduled for manufacturing, changes over equipment to new sizes or performs scheduled maintenance.
  • Use maintenance software for all work orders and preventative maintenance. There is no supervisory responsibility for this position.
  • Experienced in doing PMs and repairing Spray Dryers, Blenders, and Homogenizers a must.

Education and/or Experience

High School degree or a minimum of five years' non-automotive mechanical experience in reading blueprints, PM's in manufacturing environment, plumbing, electrical, carpentry or a combination of education and work experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form .

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of AutoCAD database, Internet, inventory, order processing systems, spreadsheet, and word processing software.

Other Skills and Abilities

Strong skill set in maintaining and repairing Mechanical and Electrical systems.

Able to read electrical schematics, P&ID, facility layouts, architectural drawings, and mechanical drawings.
